A Winter Colourland

January 9, 2017

A Winter Colourland was exhibited at The Reach Gallery Museum in Abbotsford, BC and was not to be missed! It was a 54-foot long (9 feet high) colouring book graphic that extended the full length of The Reach’s Grotto Gallery. The piece was interactive and there were also colouring books based on the artwork for sale.

In this body of work, I explore the winter myths, legends and stories from many cultures and eras through the contemporary lens of the adult colouring book. I have also included tales written by Hans Christian Andersen. I am curious about the rising popularity of the adult colouring book and the need that it is fulfilling in society.
